“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” -Thomas Merton

Since I was a young child, I found that as I created art, time and self would melt away. As a young adult, it was this phenomenon that sparked my interest in art therapy. Since then, whether it be while working with children, for organizations, on commissions or for my own challenge & growth, creating

art has played a huge role in my life. I have worked in many mediums to create fine, applied and wearable art. In recent years, I have gravitated to oil paint where I can take the time to lose myself in a painting with detail and realism. On the flip side, when I would like to create in more of an abstract and loose manner, I will use acrylic fluid art techniques. At times, I combine these two(or more) approaches into one piece of art which also creates a beautiful balance. I enjoy painting still life, portraits, natural themes, buildings and animals. I also do work in digital & graphic design, linocutting, wood burning, pastels and more.

With the importance that I give to creativity and art in my life, finding a place like Arden to call home, a community where arts and crafts played such a foundational role in its history, has been a dream. After being a long time “friend of the Ardens” since moving to Delaware in 2007, I was finally able to officially make it my home in 2017. I cherish being an active member of the community, not to mention being surrounded by natural beauty and inspiration.
