June 2023 Newsletter

1. AFTERNOON WITH THE ARTIST APPLICATION DUE JUNE 4: A big thanks to AAC artist Janet Williams who helped us relaunch this program, reimagined as a joint effort between AAC and The Artist Craft Shop Museum. Afternoon with the Artist are Sunday afternoon salons that take place in the Bernie Schwab Community Room of the Arden Craft Shop Museum during its open hours of 1-3 PM. The purpose of the salons is to showcase the ongoing, living practices of artists within the Ardens and in the context and backdrop of the historical tradition of Arts and Crafts in which the community is rooted. We are proposing four more such afternoons in the coming year. Artisan applications are being accepted for joint effort between AAC and Arden Craft Shop Museum. Bev Bizup has stepped up to be the AAC liaison with the ACSM. Thank you, Bev! Applications are due by Sunday, June 4th. See AAC website for details and application.

2. ARDEN FAIR BOOTH: Nobody expressed interest in a booth or stepped up to lead the endeavor. We get it. Everyone is busy fair day. What we might like to do is have a map with stars on that indicate AAC member booth locations in the craft show/backstage gallery as well as a short description about our organization. In addition, we will ask any AAC members with booths to proudly display an AAC logo prominently--can be our oval sticker--as well as postcards for the AAC Small Art show in December.  Once the Craft Show Vendor list has been finalized, we will contact AAC members and determine what they are willing to do.

3. We will be working with Buzz for dates and details for for the following: FALL ARTISAN SOCIAL, SMALL ART SHOW, AAC RETREAT, PHOTOGRAPHING YOUR ARTWORK WORKSHOP. I hope to have more information for you for the next newsletter.
